15 x Social Worker jobs (adults) – Safeguarding Team – Birmingham - Immediate start – paying up to £28.40

Your new company

Our Adults Safeguarding Service is expanding and recruiting 15 experienced Social Workers to join a single, integrated Safeguarding Team covering Triage and Section 42 Enquiries. You will be part of a supportive and experienced service, led by a Team Manager, along with a permanent Senior Practitioner cohort. The service operates with a strong focus on timely, proportionate safeguarding responses and effective multi-agency working. Remote working is supported, with office attendance required for monthly team meetings.

Your new role

You will either manage safeguarding concerns within a fast-paced triage environment, or with the Section 42 enquiries where appropriate. This will include undertaking visits, making decisions within 24 hours on the need for a visit, and working to a short turnaround and high-volume workflow (typically 5-day case turnover). You will be responsible for making defensible, evidence-based decisions under Section 42(1) of the Care Act 2014, coordinating safeguarding enquiries, and working with citizens and partner agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have at least 2 years post-qualification permanent experience in Adults Social Care and be confident working within safeguarding triage or undertaking Section 42. A strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, care and support assessments, support planning and general care management is essential. You must be confident in coordinating Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries and making professional, defensible decisions. Experience or working knowledge of mental health pathways, domestic abuse and modern-day slavery will be advantageous. Resilience, flexibility and confidence in decision-making are key.

What you'll get in return

In return, you will receive a competitive pay rate of £28.40 per hour, flexible remote working, and a supportive team environment. You will benefit from experienced Senior Practitioner support, regular supervision, clear case direction at allocation, monthly team meetings, wellbeing drop-in sessions and additional CPD opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured safeguarding service that values practitioner wellbeing, professional judgement and development.
