Birmingham City Council have an exciting role available within the Discharge to Access team for a qualified Social worker who is passionate about adult social work.

Your new role

Birmingham City Council are looking for an experienced social worker to work within our adult services provision, essentially required to support with facilitating care packages for patients ready for discharge / in the process of being discharged from hospital, and both services work closely together (D2A refer patients to EICT, when required).

You will also have extensive knowledge of social work practice and legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, a good understanding of personalisation and excellent assessment and analysis skills.
This role will pay depending on experience, on an ongoing contract. JD is available upon request.

Working Hours:
8:30am–5pm (Mon–Thurs) and 8:30am - 4:30pm (Friday). This role is 35hrs per week with remote working, but you will be required to attend the office 1 day per week for team meetings at the Kendrick Centre.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will need to
  • Have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/B.Sc. in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • 1 year post-qualifying experience.
  • Previous experience working within Social Work adults services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as required.
