welcome

Welcome from the Chair of Governors.

Thank you for your interest in the position of Principal at the Latimer Arts College.

Siobhan Hearne our Principal has decided to retire in 2023, so for the first time in 14 years we find ourselves looking for someone who can build on her excellent legacy and take our college to new heights.

We are a non-selective mixed foundation secondary school for students aged 11-18 and our students are at the heart of every decision we make.

We are supported by our staff who share a passionate determination to make the college the best it can be, for the good of our students; providing a platform to ensure they become the best they can be.  This is something OFSTED acknowledged in 2018 when we were deemed a “Good” school and they commented on our “desire to ensure all pupils surpass their potential”.

Whilst we are proud to celebrate our academic success, we aim to inspire our young people to become responsible, rounded members of society.

Our well established and continuously oversubscribed college has a yearly intake of 203, reinforcing the high esteem we are held in by the local community.

As a community college we are delighted to make available our Performing Arts Centre, our brand-new multi-use Sports Centre and 4G all-weather pitch.  Additionally, the significant investment that has been made at our site in recent years means we are the proud owners of a brand-new state of the art Science Learning Centre.

We feel our college is special, we are a family. As the new Principal of The Latimer Arts College we will expect you to help shape the vision of the college going forward and through your drive, passion and enthusiasm lead your team to achieve even more for our students.

If this role makes your heart beat faster, and fires your passion, please contact our recruitment advisor, Chris Gartner from Hays Leadership (details on the last page of this site).

We look forward to meeting you.

Unlocking Potential – Inspiring Excellence

The Latimer Arts College is an 11-18 school with over 1100 students on roll. The College, situated in Barton Seagrave, Northamptonshire, is highly successful and heavily oversubscribed. The College was inspected by Ofsted in 2014 and was deemed to be a good school; a short inspection by Ofsted in 2018 confirmed that it was still a good school. In 2023 our Principal retires after 14 years of distinguished service in the post.

The College values of Honesty, Excellence, Ambition, Respect and Teamwork are coupled with the fundamental British values of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. We encourage our students to be someone who is determined to make a positive contribution to both our local community and wider society. Supported by our high expectations, we work collectively to inspire all to place no boundaries on their ambitions, no limits on their aspirations and put no barriers in the way of their achievements.

"The Latimer Arts College remains a school where the strengths and talents of pupils and staff are very highly valued." – Ofsted 2018

We are now seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Principal, who will continue to develop our College and lead us to the next stage of excellence.

We want to hear from ambitious, dynamic senior leaders and established Principals who will bring inspirational leadership and ideas to our College. You will be an exceptionally talented senior leader already, who is highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people, with the natural ability to inspire and motivate both students and peers. With substantial leadership experience as a Principal or Deputy, you will lead an approach that sees every challenge as an opportunity to continually improve standards of education and to foster an outstanding learning environment.

If you are an experienced senior leader who is wholeheartedly committed to delivering a high-quality, inclusive educational experience, and also have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to lead and manage our College whilst sharing our values, ethos, and vision, we would like to invite you to apply for this post.
