Who we are
Gloucester and Forest Alternative Provision School (GFAPS) and Severn Valley School (SVS) are Local Authority maintained Alternative Provision schools.
Registered with the Department for Education (DfE) as PRUs, together the schools provide up to 216 places for students (age 5-16) who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from school. Referrals come directly from the LA or via mainstreams schools who commission partnership places. The Local Authority also commission places for children who do not have a school place, are awaiting a special school place or have moved school because of the Child in Care Transfer Protocol.
Delivered by strong and passionate staff, both schools aim to offer a range of alternative education provision and support for children and young people who are unable to access or attend mainstream education. Students attend on a full or part-time basis; all places are intended to be short-term.
