Service Designer

What you'll need to succeed

Day to day you will be:

  • Analysing existing information provided by several government departments and considering users’ needs within that context.
  • Co-ordinating with other government departments on this broader look at sanctions information and influencing key stakeholders where appropriate to effect change.
  • Understanding and reporting on internal stakeholders’ perspectives and user needs
  • Devising user journeys that match specific user needs met by the scope of sanctions policy remit.
  • Applying service design-thinking to content in prototyped services, using a task-based mentality
  • Ensuring consistency of language and naming conventions across all content and prototypes – employing a sharp eye for detail
  • Removing redundant text/steps and introducing brevity at appropriate stages in the user's journey across the service
  • Taking an integrated approach that considers all content outside of prototypes along with prototypes, so online journeys are smooth.
  • Demonstrating an Agile mindset, a willingness to improve Agile capability, and a strategic, systems-thinking approach.
  • Using tools such as SharePoint to map and organise content and stakeholder lists, ensuring they are detailed and kept up to date.

Essential:

  • Agile working
  • Strong background in either service or product design
  • Designer that understands the value proposition
  • Data-informed decision-making
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Experience working in the Business to Business and Business to Customer sectors.
