Henshaws Specialist College are seeking to appoint an exceptional, values driven and inspirational Principal. This position requires a proven track record of successful specialist school or college leadership to lead us through an exciting period of development and change, including entering the online educational market.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a truly unique role, leading the management of a post-16 education Specialist College that is based in Starbeck, Harrogate. Our college provides a stimulating and caring environment for young people who may have complex medical, emotional, or behavioural challenges. We place an emphasis on holistic education to address the multifaceted needs our students have and to develop their individual gifts.
Although the college has recently been through a challenging period as we strive to provide the best possible education and care for students with increasingly complex needs, we are working hard with our regulatory bodies to ensure high standards for the College, and have recently recruited to a number of high level specialist roles including a new Head of Care for College, as well as clinical and residential care specialist leaders to support our vision going forward.
Our reputation for exceeding expectations has ensured increasing student numbers year on year, and the College is now close to capacity. We also have a strengthened College governance team in place to support the Principal in achieving our aims.
