Digital Chester
The University has embarked on a major digital transformation programme, “Digital Chester”. This will deliver a digital first culture into the University, delivering value added capabilities that enhance the University experience for all.
Digital Chester will result in the University being nationally recognised as a higher education centre of digital excellence as we implement an ambitious and far reaching digital transformation over the next three years.
Work has already started and the pace of change will be rapid. New and disruptive technologies are being adopted to provide foundational capabilities. As these are established our ability to deliver transformational change will be enhanced, accelerating our ability to support and facilitate Chester’s Citizen Student, Sustainability and Research strategies.
We have embraced the cloud, using Microsoft Azure as our public cloud of choice. Our supporting technologies are changing rapidly to capitalise on the benefits that this platform provides. We are not constrained by the past, giving us a real opportunity to adopt new solutions that will radically change the way we deliver our services.
The University of Chester has made a strong commitment to be successful in this transformation programme and Digital Chester is an enabler for our ambitious University goals.
All areas of the University are embracing Digital opportunities. Digital transformation is far more than technology. We are establishing and evolving a proactive digital first culture across all aspects of the University. We ask “how” outcomes can be achieved not if they are possible. We are embracing the opportunity to look to the future rather than being constrained by approaches of the past.
The digital first culture underpins all programmes of work. All core systems and services are fully digital. Every educator is a digital educator. Every learner is a digital learner. We are investing in uplifting the Digital skills and capabilities across all our stakeholders to ensure we are fully supportive and digitally inclusive.
