We are a welcoming, high performing team at Woodhey, driven by our vision to be a centre of excellence locally, regionally and nationally, where students, staff and the community are proud to work together to broaden our horizons, exceed our aspirations and where everyone achieves their full potential.

Everything we do in our team is centred around our two key values: Respect and Excellence. Everyone in our team respects each other by treating everyone as we wish to be treated as we are all part of the same team. We all strive to demonstrate excellence by being the best we can be at all times, as nothing but the best is good enough.

As a school, we are on a journey of improvement. The school was inspected in October 2022 and deemed to be requiring improvement, which was a fair judgement of where the school was at. This makes joining our school an exciting opportunity. It is a chance to shape the future of our school and make an indelible mark on improving the education of our fantastic pupils. Key to our journey of improvement is our relentless drive to ensure high expectations of everyone within our community. We make no apologies for this focus, as this is fundamental to ensuring excellent learning, interactions and engagement can take place. We are keen to hear from likeminded people who can bring new energy, ideas and enthusiasm to our team of great staff and students to move us even further forwards on our journey.

Members of our school community enjoy positive relationships built upon mutual respect, engaging with pupils who are keen to learn and contribute to both the school and wider community. Pupils enjoy coming to school and are driven individuals who are keen to succeed.

Our colleagues are driven individuals who are firmly committed to ensuring the success of each and every pupil they teach. They care for our pupils, challenge them and provide a vast range of experiences for them to further their academic and personal development. In return, we, through the support of our Trust (the Shaw Education Trust) offer an excellent package of CPD through the Institute of Education and equip all of our teaching staff with an iPad to allow them to deliver excellent lessons using cutting edge technology.
